WHO IS PWNHEALTH?
PWNHealth is dedicated to supporting expanded consumer access to diagnostic testing in a safe and medically appropriate way. Our national clinical network and care coordination team support consumers through the testing process. PWN’s suite of services enable a broad spectrum of health industry clients to provide seamless access to diagnostic testing and related care interventions.
SHOULD I TALK TO MY DOCTOR ABOUT MY RESULTS?
Yes. PWNHealth strongly supports consumer access to testing, and we have worked hard to ensure that we do so in a safe and responsible manner. But it is always important to make health decisions in consultation with a physician to understand the broader context of care and to ensure you are making the best decisions for your personal health. We strongly encourage sharing your results with your primary physician or regular healthcare provider.
How does PWNHealth protect patient information and who will
have access to my results and electronic health record?
We are committed to protecting and safeguarding all data and systems within the PWNHealth network. To that end, the PWNHealth Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) administers and maintains a robust information security program to assure that the confidentiality, integrity and availability for the network and all information is upheld. PWNHealth further aligns the information security program with HIPAA to protect patient health information. We maintain a privacy and security trained and aware workforce, which only accesses customer and patient data and records in order to fulfill their job duties in accordance with permissible use for access, usage and disclosure of that information.
Does PWNHealth approve every test?
No, not all tests are approved. Denials of specific tests stem from many different reasons: some tests aren’t appropriate for some individuals (e.g. PSA test for a woman); some adhere to specific clinical guidelines, and some utilize full protocols to establish whether or not an individual is eligible. Other considerations are also often taken into account.
Do you work with every lab?
We are partnered with some of the largest labs in the country and also work with many smaller labs to provide coverage for consumers and access to unique testing. However, PWNHealth does not work with every lab. Labs must accept PWN’s standards for validation, education, and patient safety and be CLIA certified.
